Dutchman's Pipevine is a particularly unique native plant that developes pitcher like flowers for pollination. Aristolochia california will prefer shady conditions with slow draining soil. This vine will flower in the Spring and Winter while crawling along the ground, but is deciduous the rest of the winter.  A. californica will take low to moderate water, more while establishing.
